Leather- cleaning, finishing, tanning, and dyeing

ICL’s Specialty Polyphosphates are widely used in leather processing to improve the efficacy of detergents used in cleaning, finishing, tanning, and dying to improve their penetration, wetting, emulsifying, and dispersing properties which allow soaking and liming processes in the same bath.

Textiles - cleaning, finishing, tanning, and dyeing

ICL’s Polyphosphates perform various functions within textile processing such as cleaning, finishing, and dyeing. In addition, polyphosphates combined with soaps or with synthetic detergents are widely used in the textile industry due to their synergistic effects on detergency to improve their penetration, wetting, and emulsifying; and as textile scourers where they function as a dispersant before dyeing to reduce streaking and spotting.

Protective clothing

Protective clothing can be treated with ICL’s fire retardant products which assist in deep penetration into the fiber structure to deliver more effective heat resistance and to inhibit the spread of fire for longer.

Flame retardants

Flame retardants for leather and textile find application in many industries. For the automotive and aviation industries, furniture and curtains, heavy-duty workwear clothing, and protective gear, and many more. ICL’s TexFRon products line provides flame-resistance properties, which are bound into the textile. TexFRon is applied as a dispersible acrylic emulsion. ICL offers a range of tailor-made and sustainable products for these applications.
