Oil And Gas Drilling

Overview

ICL is a world-leading manufacturer and supplier of bromine-based drilling and completion fluids called clear brine fluids. Clear brine fluids are high-density and solid-free brines, used mainly in the completion process of offshore oil and gas wells. The main functions of clear brine fluids include: control wellbore pressure, cool the bits and tools, lubricating tools and pipes, transport solids from the wellbore, transport treatments to the production zone, minimize formation and equipment damage, and minimize operation time.

Ceramics & Refractories

Chemically bonded phosphate ceramics and refractories result from reacting an acidified phosphate or phosphoric acid and a sparsely soluble metal oxide. Unique features of this highly versatile product make it an ally in the construction of oil well cements. Along with monopotassium phosphate, they also provide bonding in the refractory mix and increase the green strength of the refractory castings.

Drilling, oil, and gas well completions, and workovers

ICL is a leading global producer of a range of chemicals including completion fluids and refractory metal drilling fluids to increase oil and gas well efficiency in both deep water and terrestrial drilling operations including recyclable and reusable clear brine fluids. These include salts which may be added to control fluid density, hydrostatic pressure, pH and to minimize damage to the producing interval, provide lubrication to preserve drilling equipment, circulate and transport solids to increase oil and gas well efficiency and productivity.

Potassium Chloride

ICL is a leading global potassium chloride manufacturer. Potassium chloride is used to treat waters economically and effectively, as well as a formation damage control additive to reduce permeability damage caused by sloughing, clay swelling, and consequent fine particle migration in the hydraulic fracturing process.
